川田画廊では、山口大介の個展を開催いたします。

山口大介は2001年兵庫県生まれ。武蔵野美術大学油絵学科を卒業後、精力的に制作を続ける若手作家です。初期には風景を基軸とした具象的表現に取り組みながら、近年では対象を断片化し再構成することで、現実と絵画空間のあいだに新たな関係性を生み出しています。

その画面には、厚く塗り重ねられた絵具の物質感と、身体的な運動性が強く刻まれています。描くという行為そのものが画面に定着することで、見る者の知覚を揺さぶり、風景の記憶や感覚を呼び起こします。

本展では、近作を中心に、山口の現在地を示す作品群を紹介いたします。具象と抽象のあわいを行き来しながら、絵画とは何かを問い続けるその試みは、瑞々しい感性と確かな技術に支えられ、これからの展開を強く予感させるものです。

Kawata Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Yamaguchi Daisuke.

Born in Hyogo in 2001, Yamaguchi graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Musashino Art University and has since been actively engaged in his artistic practice. While his earlier works were rooted in representational landscapes, in recent years he has shifted toward fragmenting and reconstructing his subjects, creating new relationships between reality and pictorial space.

His paintings are characterized by richly layered textures of paint and a strong sense of physical movement. The act of painting itself becomes embedded in the surface, unsettling the viewer’s perception and evoking memories and sensations of landscape.

This exhibition will present a selection of his recent works, offering insight into his current artistic direction. Moving fluidly between figuration and abstraction, Yamaguchi continues to question the nature of painting itself. His work, supported by both a fresh sensibility and solid technical foundation, suggests a compelling trajectory for the future.
