Kawata Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Noritoshi Mitsuuchi, a contemporary artist currently garnering significant acclaim on the global stage.

While remaining based in Osaka, Mitsuuchi has solidified his international reputation through a series of successful solo exhibitions in major art hubs, including New York, Paris, London, and Spain. His work is characterized by primitive, uninhibited lines that may, at first glance, appear as innocent as a child’s drawing. However, within those lines lies a coexistence of poetic depth and a sharp insight into the essence of his subjects—a quality that emerges only when technical artifice is intentionally stripped away.

This exhibition features a new body of work centered on the theme of “beings that dwell in the threshold between reality and fantasy, belonging fully to neither.” The narratives woven through his allegorical iconography—knights, cats, and crowns—touch the depths of the viewer’s memory, reawakening pure, long-forgotten emotions.
