川田画廊ではこのたび、ガラス作家・加藤千佳による個展を開催いたします。
雪、霜、氷――
加藤千佳は、水が姿を変える一瞬の現象に静かに眼差しを向け、その儚さと緊張感をガラスという素材に写し取ってきました。日常の中でふと立ち現れては消えていく自然の痕跡。作家はそれらを単なるモチーフとしてではなく、「時間」や「空間」の感触を伴う記憶として捉え、造形へと昇華させています。
粒状のガラスや焼成条件のわずかな差異が生み出す表情は、偶然性と制御のあわいにあり、硬質な素材でありながら、どこか脆く、溶けゆく気配を宿しています。作品の前に立つと、冷たさや静けさだけでなく、内側からにじむような温度や、ゆるやかに流れる時間を感じ取ることができるでしょう。
本展では、加藤千佳の一貫したテーマである「水の状態変化」と「一瞬の定着」を多角的にご紹介いたします。
ガラスという素材がもつ可能性と、自然への繊細な感受性が交差する静謐な世界を、ぜひ会場にてご体感ください。
Kawata Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by glass artist Chika Kato.
Snow, frost, ice—
Chika Kato quietly turns her gaze toward fleeting moments in which water transforms its state, translating their fragility and tension into glass. Traces of nature that briefly emerge and vanish in everyday life are not treated merely as motifs; rather, they are perceived as memories imbued with a sense of time and space, and sublimated into sculptural form.
The subtle expressions produced by granular glass and slight variations in firing conditions exist in the delicate space between chance and control. Though glass is a hard and solid material, Kato’s works convey a sense of vulnerability and impermanence, as if they might slowly dissolve before our eyes. Standing before the works, one senses not only coolness and stillness, but also an inner warmth and a gently flowing passage of time.
This exhibition presents Kato’s consistent exploration of “the transformation of water” and “the fixation of a single moment” from multiple perspectives.
We invite you to experience this quiet and contemplative world, where the inherent possibilities of glass intersect with a sensitive awareness of nature.
