川田画廊ではこのたび、画家 川村摩那 の個展を開催いたします。
川村摩那は、日本語や文学に強い関心を持ち、言葉から生まれるイメージを絵画として表現する作家です。早稲田大学で日本文学を学んだ後、京都芸術大学大学院にて油画を修了。言葉が持つ意味や響き、そこから広がる感情や記憶を、色やかたちに置き換えるように制作を続けてきました。
作品の中には、文字や言葉の断片が描かれていますが、それらは読むためのものというより、色や線と同じように画面をつくる要素として扱われています。言葉は次第に形を変え、風景や抽象的なイメージと溶け合いながら、見る人それぞれの感じ方に委ねられていきます。
本展では、近作を中心に、言葉と絵画が重なり合うことで生まれる川村摩那の世界をご紹介いたします。
意味を考えすぎず、まずは「見ること」から始めていただければ幸いです。

Kawata Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by the artist Mana Kawamura.
Mana Kawamura is an artist with a deep interest in the Japanese language and literature, creating paintings inspired by images that emerge from words. After studying Japanese literature at Waseda University, she completed her MFA in oil painting at Kyoto University of the Arts. Her practice explores how the meanings, sounds, emotions, and memories carried by language can be translated into color and form.
In her works, fragments of letters and words often appear. Rather than being something to read, they function as visual elements—no different from color or line—shaping the composition of the painting. As the words gradually transform, they merge with landscapes and abstract imagery, leaving space for each viewer’s own interpretation.
This exhibition presents a selection of Kawamura’s recent works, offering an insight into a world where language and painting overlap and resonate with one another.
Rather than seeking fixed meanings, viewers are invited simply to begin by looking.
